Original Unframed Artwork.
Medium: Mixed media on canvas.
About the Art: Faultline is one of my earliest pieces, created during a time of exploring texture, creating depth, and trusting my instincts over planning perfection. The use of black and gold though was deliberate. Black brings depth, mood and stillness, while the gold “faultline” introduces a sense of refinement and quiet contrast.
The inspiration came from high-end apartment living and contemporary interiors. It was sparked by my daydreaming, envisioning my work hanging inside a new apartment complex being built around the corner from work.
The name Faultline reflects the contrast that exists within polished contemporary spaces. Beneath clean architecture and carefully curated interiors, there are always stories, tension, growth and change. I feel this painting captures that co-existence - understated on the surface, yet deeply textured underneath.
